7/8/2023 0 Comments Huntress by Julie Hall![]() ![]() ![]() There is much more action here then in Huntress and all the battles were written really, really well as I was on the edge of my seat for nearly all of them. All their friends expand too and Hugo! I LOVED Hugo and his secret identity. Logan really shines in this one as he emerges from behind his grumpiness and we get to see more of who he really is underneath, and I actually really, really like him now! I love how he decides to stop being dumb about Audrey and is willing to fight and wait for her to be ready for him and his love-that is so sweet and right and I love him all the more for it. ![]() While still making a pile of stupid mistakes plus some good calls (don’t we all?), Audrey continued to be relatable and entirely funny and self aware as she blunders and runs through her (after)life. Tension! Warfare picks up right where Huntress left off, and it was a totally epic ride from beginning to end! ![]()

It has been awhile since i have been immersed in a book. ness touches upon the problems of colonization and group mentality and dehumanization and helplessness and loyalty with a skill for storytelling and characterization, and always skirting that fine line between emotion and sentimentality. This was much richer and deeper and so very dark. I really thought it was going to be a low-impact tale of a boy's adventure's through a damaged land with some sort of eventual self-discovery and that it would have good action sequences and some obvious metaphors and blah-di-blah and people said it was sad, so i figured someone would die at some point. i don't even know where to start with this book. ![]() i myself had all three of the books in this trilogy just smooshed in the middle of piles of other books at my place, thinking, "i will read those when i get around to it." and you may be feeling the same way. there are a lot of books in the world, most of us are mortal, who has the time, etc. To the other 171 of you, i say - "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?" and you can see i am serious about this, because i have done math in order to convince you.**Īnd i know, i know. 199 of them have this book on their shelves. ![]() 7/7/2023 0 Comments Land of dreams cheryl st john![]() ![]() I was also lucky enough to hear stories passed on from several generations, play dress-up in wonderful clothing from different decades, and be taught manners and behavior from a more courtly society.
